| Sterling, Illinois – October 1, 2005 – After 25
years of ownership by Tony Paone,
Paone’s Blackhawk Lanes, Inc. has been purchased by his
son, TJ Paone. Tony Paone
will remain on through the end of 2005, to help aid in
the transition.
Paone’s Blackhawk Lanes, Inc. was originally built in
1959 by Wilfred “Coo” and Donna
Glick and consisted of eight lanes. In 1961, the Glick’s
expanded the facility by adding
twelve more lanes. And in August of 1981, Tony Paone
purchased the center and has
continued to improve and update the condition and
quality of the facility with many
renovations and improvements.
When talking about the sale of the center, TJ Paone
stated that, “Throughout the last
twenty-five years, I have watched the sport of bowling
and the environment change
dramatically. I have grown up in this center and
everyone here is like family. This has
truly been a dream of mine, since I was eight years old,
to one day own Blackhawk Lanes
and be able to leave my mark on it and the community.
One of the greatest assets that I
have are the valuable employees. They help to provide a
high level of quality services to
our customers and I view that as one of the most
important aspects of this business. My
only hope is that I can continue on in this tradition. I
am looking forward to
accomplishing this goal and hope to be able to offer new
and exciting opportunities to the
area.”
Paone’s Blackhawk Lanes, Inc would also like to announce
the premier of their website
which is located at
www.BlackhawkLanes.com. This website
contains valuable
information on the center, as well as the local bowling
associations and much more.
